Lady Gaga quería ser famosa tanto que nombró su álbum debut ganador del Grammy The Fame. Pero más de 15 años después, ha cambiado su discurso. En su nueva canción “Perfect Celebrity,” de su séptimo álbum de estudio Mayhem, Gaga confronta el lado oscuro de la fama como nunca antes.
Sobre un groove electro-grunge inspirado en los años 90, Gaga analiza el impacto emocional de su éxito, llamándose a sí misma un “ser notorio,” mientras abraza sarcásticamente el lado comercial con mordaz sarcasmo. “You make me money, I'll make you laugh,” canta en el agresivo coro.

“After I made that song, I was like, ‘We need to change all the production,’” dijo. “Then I went back and said, ‘No, we shouldn’t change everything’...
